The Receptionist is the first person to greet students, families, staff, and faculty entering The Washington Ballet’s Joseph C. Coleman Studios. The ideal candidate is welcoming, attentive, patient, resourceful, and inclusive. They are able to work under pressure, problem solve in the moment, work at a fast pace when necessary, and foster a sense of community.
reviewing and following the daily studio schedule, and directing guests to the correct location;
welcoming students, families, faculty, renters, and all individuals upon entry;
responding to inquiries/issues or directing to staff;
identifying creative solutions when challenges arise;
monitoring arrivals and departures via the front door to the suite to maintain building security;
receiving and notifying School and Community Programs Manager of mail and/or packages;
maintaining an understanding of all in-studio technology;
managing adult class attendance;
monitoring compliance of Covid-19 protocols and procedures and addressing violations when necessary;
assisting the School and Community Programs Manager with administrative and facility projects when requested.
Qualifications: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Zoom preferred.
Required Working Hours:
The Receptionist position has several shifts during the operating hours of the building from 9:00am-9:15pm Monday – Friday and 9:00am-3:00pm Saturday-Sunday. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 hours available during these timeframes.
Hourly Rate: $15/hour
