Presentation Grants – Two evening length dance works will be selected for public presentation at Dance Place and Dance Loft on 14 in September 2016. This program will guarantee an artist fee of $2,500 for each artist whose work is selected.
Choreographers’ Commission Grants – Two commission grants at $5,000 each will be awarded to DC area choreographers towards the development of new work. The selected artists will be presented in a shared evening at Dance Place in March 2017.
Rehearsal Space Subsidy Grants – Six artists will be selected to receive $500 rehearsal subsidy grants. Four artists will be selected by an independent panel and two will be selected by random lottery from the remaining pool of eligible applicants.
Professional Development series – Dance Metro DC’s Professional Development series aims to provide resources and tools that enhance business development and capacity building skills for professionals in dance. Professional Development sessions will be offered throughout the 2016-2017 season and will be facilitated by experts in the field from throughout the national capital region and beyond.
