UpRooted Dance’s Outdoor Performance and Fundraising Event

Come enjoy libations, food, a silent auction, dance performances, music, and more at this intimate fundraising event supporting UpRooted Dance. Lauren Hodas, Board Secretary of UpRooted, and her husband Andrei Cernea have graciously offered their backyard for a sneak preview of UpRooted’s upcoming work, “The Ascension Project,” as well as a site-specific piece. We invite you to experience live dance outdoors and while getting to know the creative artistry of this Bethesda-based dance company.
UpRooted Dance is directed by Keira Hart-Mendoza, who received an Individual Artist Award for the Performing Arts by the State of Maryland in 2020. UpRooted Dance creates intersections between dance and other art forms, often in unexpected locations.
