Making Moves: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Action
February 29 @ 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm
This workshop is a needed professional development event for all dance educators. Participants will explore diversity, equity, and inclusion on the physical level, in the body, through movement studies and activities.
Through this workshop designed for studio dance teachers, Dr. Nya McCarthy-Brown shares teaching tools that can be used in your classroom immediately. Participants will be given resources and language around: relating to, teaching, and even excluding diverse dance forms. Utilizing a critical lens, dance educators will also develop a heightened awareness of Whiteness in dance education.
In addition, we will dance and enjoy moving, learning, and growing in community.
