Based on the work of physicist and Judo teacher Moshe Feldenkrais, Awareness Through Movement classes use slow, mindful movement patterns to achieve powerful effects in terms of strength and flexibility. Each lesson explores an essential principle on which human action is built, making lessons accessible and rich to those of all backgrounds.
– Each movement should be done gently, 3-8 times, with a pause in between each movement.
– A full rest should be taken whenever the student desires, regardless of instructions.
– Unless something is clearly forbidden, it is allowed, so use your creativity and intuition to experiment during the lesson.
