Chamber Dance: An Evening of Dance on Film

With Films Created from Chamber Dance Project’s 2020 & 2021 Seasons

Join us in the Justice Forum at the REACH at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts*. We will showcase seven unique films shot at locations around the U.S. during 2020 and 2021. Please join us for the premiere screening on October 7. Our dance films include:

Berceuse, a duet filmed in a soaring atrium of the Milwaukee Museum of Art

A Single Light, created by the dancers in their own home

Sarabande, set against the backdrop of the immense Sepulveda Dam in Los Angeles

Waltz, filmed in an opulent Beaux-Arts-era ballroom in Washington

Dwellings, a vibrant ensemble set on a local rooftop

—and a work filmed in the historic Wilkes St. Tunnel in Old Town Alexandria

*This event is an external rental presented in coordination with the Kennedy Center Campus Rentals Office and is not produced by the Kennedy Center.

Private Reception After Premiere Screening at 6:30
The Evening’s first screening is followed by a private cocktail reception with the Artistic Director, Diane Coburn Bruning, artists, and filmmakers. Guests will be able to meet and discuss the films with our creative team to learn more about the works and the process in this burgeoning genre of dance.
