Adult Hungarian Dance class at Montgomery College

Discover Hungarian traditional dance, a range of styles characterized by improvisation, energetic movements, and enthusiasm. Traditional dance styles were repopularized in Hungary as part of the Táncház movement of the 1970s, as a way of reconnecting to their culture and protesting Soviet occupation. Dance the steps of Hungarian Magyarpalatka-style dance while exploring traditional styling, costumes, and music. By the end of class, students will be able to confidently attend a Tisza Ensemblenew window or other Hungarian organization’s táncház programs and be prepared to dance with a partner or in a group.
