Jane Franklin partners with a variety of artistic disciplines including digital arts, poetry, music and sculpture. Jane Franklin received a prestigious grant from the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region to combine skate boarders with dancers. Her work Incidence in which dancers manipulate a life size kinetic sculpture was presented by the Mead Theatre Lab at Flashpoint, a program of the Cultural Development Corporation and by Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival.. Jane Franklin was selected for Source Festival Artistic Blind Dates, for Velocity DC Dance Festival, and for INTERSECTION Festival at Atlas Performing Arts Center. She received a Special Opportunity Award to create a public art project for the City Of Alexandria incorporating dogs, owners and dancers. Jane Franklin is a recipient of the American Association of University Women Elizabeth Campbell Award for the Advancement of the Arts in Arlington and her video work was selected for PHOTO/VIDEO13: Juried Mid-Atlantic Exhibition.

Jane Franklin Dance conducts ongoing outreach for older adults and youth. Forty + a performing group of community based dancers past the age of 40 presents workshops and performances at numerous centers serving older adults. Jane Franklin Dance has been recognized by Virginia’s Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and the company tours for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Paul Mellon Arts in Education Program and the Virginia Commission’s Tour Directory. The company performs for young audiences through The Arts Council of Fairfax County Creative Arts Program and the Arlington County Humanities Project and conducts projects for low-middle income families through a variety of sponsoring organizations.
