The arts create challenge; the arts create common ground; and the arts must be accessible to all – these are the rallying cries of the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW), which serves all ages and provides tuition assistance for youth and adult classes. Offerings include photography, writing, visual arts, textiles, ceramics, acting, dance, and more. A van collects children at several area schools for after-school classes and private music lessons and there are multiple sessions of Summer Arts Camps – with equal access for all. Juried shows for artists as well as many performances keep adults engaged and alive. Some 500 people participate in CHAW’s programs each week – 20,000 annually. Here, the arts inspire. We hope they inspire you, too. Treat yourself to an innovative arts experience at CHAW and build community at the same time! Visit www.chaw.org or call (202) 547-6839 for more information.
