Dance Programming Coordinator
The Dance Programming department’s mission is to provide the highest caliber experience for all presented and produced dance companies and events at the Kennedy Center, in keeping with an expectation of the nation’s performing arts center.
The Coordinator within the Dance Programming team is responsible for the logistical management of the Kennedy Center’s Ballet and Dance seasons. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing schedules, travel, and itineraries to include all audience engagement events. They manage the supernumerary program and auditions. This person must collaborate with visiting artists and various Center departments in order to realize successful presenting engagements. The Coordinator must maintain relationships with local hotels, travel agents, and members of other departments at The Kennedy Center in order to meet the needs of visiting companies.
The Coordinator also provides support to the Managers of Dance Programming in the presentations of annual programs through Damian Woetzel’s DEMO series and presentations on Millennium Stage to include National Dance Day and the Local Dance Commissioning Project.
The position requires presence and availability whenever artists are at the Kennedy Center in order to provide the necessary support and level of hospitality that is expected by the world-class artists that visit the Center. The Coordinator also manages the day to day operations of the Dance Programming office and other duties as assigned.
