Job Posting: Summer Camp Dance Instructor at Arena Stage

Camp Arena Stage, Arena Stage’s multi-arts summer day camp seeks a dynamic, high-energy instructor to teach dance to ages 8 to 15 this summer. Instructor plans and teaches four exciting, daily dance classes.  Some are all-levels; others are beginner or intermediate.

Search for teachers with experience teaching any of the following: contemporary, modern, jazz, acro, hip-hop, stepping, tap and other areas of expertise.

The instructor also participates fully in camp events and acts as a group leader to a small group of campers. Successful applicants have proven skills in engaging approaches in dance instruction and choreography and have experience working with young people.

Qualifications:  Instructors must be able to plan and teach their own age-appropriate curriculum/choreography.  Instructors are typically college graduates with professional experience in their arts area and/or education.  Exceptions may be made for outstanding undergraduate applicants entering their senior year.

Time commitment: Seven weeks, full-time from June 17 through August 3, 2019

Mondays-Fridays (one clean-up Saturday) 8:30 am-4:30 pm
