The Department of Performing Arts at Georgetown University seeks an artistic director for the Georgetown University Dance Company (GUDC), a co-curricular repertory dance company that performs diverse works in classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, indigenous, hip hop, and tap. Entry is by audition every September. Choreography is created by the faculty director, student members, professional guest choreographers. The faculty artistic director leads two classes per week and sets the syllabus for the term (including guest artists, masterclasses, and choreographers). In addition to the Fall showcase (black box) program and the Spring concert (Gonda Theatre), GUDC performs at basketball games, Lombardi Dances, and other campus and charitable events throughout the year, which are organized in coordination with a student board that also has responsibility for aspects of the official season.
