Experienced Youth Choreographer to work at Performing Arts Camps located at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, University of Maryland and/or Bowie State University. Both camp locations are musical theatre intensives for kids ages 8 to 16. The ideal candidate has a desire to work with kids of all experiences, backgrounds, and talents. Candidates who apply will be considered for both locations based on availability.
-Bowie State University runs June 17 through July 12
-Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center runs July 15 through August 9
Both camps operate from 9 am to 4:30 pm. (excluding the July 4th holiday.)
All directors/instructors must also be available for trainings on evenings TBD the week of June 10, as well as two additional planning dates to be scheduled depending on staff availability.
– Plan and teach final choreographer for musical productions at each camp session
– Develop and execute engaging dance curriculum and lessons throughout the rehearsal process
-Communicate with parents/guardians and M-NCPPC supervisors to ensure a safe, secure and customer friendly environment, promoting cooperation and coordinating with all personnel and participants
• At least 1 year of previous experience in choreography for musicals or dance education
• B.A. or B.F.A. in Dance preferred
• CPR certification is required, and CPR trainings will be provided.
Salary: $14.50-$26/hour, based on experience
