Company & Touring Manager – Part-Time
Reports to Artistic Director

Company overview: Chamber Dance Project, dancers & musicians is a contemporary ballet repertoire company working entirely with live music (our own string quartet and guest musicians).  CDP was re-established in Washington, DC in 2014.  Founded by award-winning choreographer, Diane Coburn Bruning. Our repertoire comprises over 10 choreographers with commissioned and restaged works by 2-3 choreographers and by Diane each year.  We are positioning the company to begin touring in summer of 2020.

Job Overview The Company and Touring Manager oversees and implements all administrative activities related to dancers, musicians, designers and guest artists and actively cultivates and implements local, regional and national touring and residencies.

Responsibilities include:
• Work 8 hours a week: 6 hours one day a week in office and 2 remote hours/week
• Attend weekly staff meeting and contribute to strategy, marketing and development plans
• Actively cultivate local, regional and national touring and residencies and other opportunities for performances and be liaison to presenters
• Develop materials and website pages with staff to promote residencies and tours
• Organizing all logistics related to residencies and tours 
• Engage with the community and our partner organizations; develop new partnerships
• Organize and plan for and attend the annual January APAP conference in New York
• Serve as liaison between artists and production and administrative staff, Board, and patrons 
• Arrange all travel and housing for artists 
• Draft and execute all contracts for artists working with Artistic Director
• Cultivate interest of outstanding dancers and arrange auditions for preferred ones
•  Secure rehearsal space and contracts
•  Assist Artistic Director, Ballet Master and production staff in related work
•  Create and maintain a video and audio library and access to artists

Qualifications and Qualities:
• College 4-year degree – related major preferred
• 2+ year experience in performing arts, contracts, management and touring
• Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work in fast-paced environment
