Dance Place, a nationally recognized cultural center in Washington, DC, is seeking an Individual Giving Manager. This is a 40 hour per week, salaried, year-round position with benefits. Individual Giving Manager supports all efforts of the fundraising team, working under the supervision of the Development Director.

The manager has the primary responsibility in donor tracking, reporting and donor communications/solicitations, as well as managing all fundraising events. This includes the annual Gala, other ticketed special events and donor cultivation receptions both on and off site. The manager has a close relationship with board members and provides the Executive Artistic Director with support in board management, development and communications. The Individual Giving Manager serves as a supervisor of an intern as part of a four-person development team. Dance Place is an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate and assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of integrated fundraising campaigns to meet annual revenue goals
Manage all communications with donors in all forms of media
Help to lead and manage the scheduling, organizing and executing of a wide range of fundraising and stewardship events throughout the year including an annual fundraising gala, two other ticketed special events, ten private receptions and annual donor trip
Serve as external spokesperson for the organization and primary contact for individual donors
Actively work to cultivate new donors and provide stewardship for existing donors
Manage all donor records in Patronmanager database and work closely with Financial Director in donor reconciliation
Manage all logistics for Board of Directors meetings every two months
Provide editing and assistance in writing Dance Place’s individual fundraising appeals including six annual appeals
Manage the Individual Giving Budget, including tracking actuals throughout the year
Create detailed financial and statistical reports on donor giving and trends
Gather information and stories from Dance Place participants for fundraising purposes

Highly organized and detail oriented
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Experience with donor databases
Understanding of the workings of development office and non-profit operations
Bachelor’s Degree
Prior experience in organizing events a plus
2-3 years of experience in a non-profit/ arts setting preferred
