Dance Place Seeks a Production Associate

Dance Place, a nationally recognized cultural arts center in Washington, DC, seeks a Production Associate for presenting series. This is a 35 hour per week, salaried, year-round position with benefits. The Production Associate will report to Dance Place’s Director of Production and Artistic and Community Program Manager. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of professional theater experience and interest in working with dance and experimental performance. Dance Place is an equal opportunity employer.
The Production Associate serves as a support person to the Dance Place programming team and Cafritz Foundation Theater tech staff to assist all artists in the Dance Place season to realize their artistic visions.
Provide artist services for in Dance Place’s presentation series (approximately 40 weekends annually).
Serve as point person for artist communication
Serve as liaison between production and programming departments
Schedule production meetings between artists and production staff
Schedule and coordinate hotels for all touring artists
Assist in management of Dance Place’s Artist in Residence program
Administrative/ event assistance in programming department
Grow Dance Place’s event rentals program.
Additional hours in related departments might emerge as the position develops.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in a related field
Attention to detail with excellent time management skills
Ability to work autonomously and in teams in a fast-paced environment
Highly organized and creative with deep enthusiasm for the arts
Benefits and Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with experience, a minimum of $24,000 annually
