Seeking Dance Teaching Artists for summer dance camps. We are looking for qualified candidates to teach dance classes operated by the Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. Looking for teachers with experience in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, or cultural dances such as African, Indian, Step etc.
Camps run in two or four-week sessions from June 18 to August 10, 9 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday, excluding July 4, with before/after care beginning at 7 am and ending at 6 pm. Students are ages 8–12 or 12–16. Instructors may teach one or more camp sessions, and must be available for all of the days in the camps for which they are hired. Instructors must also be available for trainings on evenings TBD the week of June 4, as well as two additional planning dates to be scheduled depending on staff availability.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of teaching or choreography experience in their discipline, preferably with ages 8–15. Compensation ranges from a $13 to $25/hour, depending on experience and the responsibility level of the position.
