Workshop For Dance Teachers Features Strategies To Compensate for Movement Dysfunctions

Body Dynamics and Virginia Dance Coalition partner together to present Instructor’s Guide to Refining Dancer Movement – Spine, Hip, Ankle/Foot, a two-day workshop for dance teachers/educators on August 12 – 13, 2017 at the Body Dynamics facility at 410 S. Maple Avenue, Suite 100, Falls Church, VA 22046.
This two-day workshop will provide dance teachers/educators with tools to observe dancer’s movements for compensatory strategies due to stiffness, tightness, or difficulty with controlling movement. BDI has assembled key movement assessments and exercises to help improve dancer’s movement patterns.
BDI will provide a certificate of completion to each participant, and, upon request, documentation to support application for CEU credits.
The lectures and movement sessions will be provided by Physical Therapists and Movement Specialists/Trainers from the Body Dynamics Performing Arts Medicine Team, who direct and manage the Health and Wellness Program for The Washington Ballet.
The Virginia Dance Coalition is an organization of dancers, dance teachers, companies and studios who are dedicated to promoting awareness of dance in Virginia, and inspiring audiences and students through performance, education, collaboration and advocacy.
