Keshet will begin accepting application for the 2017 Fellowship for Contemporary Dance on July 15, 2016. Generously funded by the National Endowment for the Arts’ Art Works Award, one U.S. based contemporary dance artist or organization will be selected for a three-week residency-based fellowship to create and produce a contemporary dance production at the Keshet Center for the Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Fellowship Award of $5,000 also includes up to 125 hours of studio space for rehearsals; tech and performance time within the Keshet Center for the Arts’ 220-seat theatre; access to daily company class for the Fellow and members of their project team; marketing support; and other benefits.

“The arts are all around us, enhancing our lives in ways both subtle and obvious, expected and unexpected,” said NEA Chairman Jane Chu. “Supporting projects like the one from Keshet Dance Company offer more opportunities to engage in the arts every day.”

Fellowship applications are reviewed by a national selection committee consisting of professionals in the field of contemporary dance production, presentation and education. The Fellowship application and award timeline is as follows:
