District Dance Arts (DDA), a new dance studio in Northeast DC offering ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and creative movement, seeks to contract dance instructors to teach ballet, tap, jazz, and creative movement for our third season of dance Sept. 8, 2015- June 4, 2016. Instructors are needed for class times between 3pm-8pm weekdays and 9am-12pm Saturdays.
DDA is implementing the Cecchetti Council of America curriculum this season. Instructor(s) will teach the Primary Level 1 & 2 curriculum (Cecchetti certification not required for Primary levels).
DDA’s tap classes are based on Dance Masters of America’s (DMA) curriculum. Instructors have the opportunity to build on this curriculum. Instructor(s) will teach pre-school and beginner level tap classes as a part of ballet/tap combination classes.
DDA’s jazz classes are based on DMA curriculum. Instructors have the opportunity to build on this curriculum. Instructor(s) will teach stand-alone beginner level jazz classes and/or ballet/jazz combination classes.
DDA’s creative movement (“Creative Ballet”) classes introduce young dancers to basic concepts such as space, shapes, movement dynamics, etc. Instructor(s) will teach pre-school level classes with the opportunity to incorporate their own material and build on the curriculum.
