Administrative Assistant

position to begin March 1, 2015

Reports to and works primarily with Artistic Director

Work:

  • 15 hours/week with work to be done during weekdays 9-5pm
  • work 10 hours/week in our office at Metro Center – on two non-consecutive days including weekly meeting with Artistic Director
  • 5 hour on own Monday-Friday
  • must work on own computer and phone (incoming calls should be through office)

Payment:

  • $15/hour hired as an independent contractor
  • invoice submitted for payment on 15th of every month

Qualifications:

  • College graduate
  • Knowledge of dance and music, arts administration experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel including mail merge
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Takes initiative to seize opportunities, anticipate and solve problems
  • Flexibility to learn and do many different tasks as needed

Major Areas of Work:

  • Assist Artistic Director in administrative and artistic work
  • Database – input, updates, management, tracking, mail
  • Donor Relations and Events- donation acknowledgments and communications with donors, run reception at events
  • Development – assist as needed in grant research and applications, solicitation letters, fundraising
  • Scheduling, hosting, logistics – Artists, Board, rehearsals, events, meetings
  • Music licensings and rights – acquisition and tracking
  • Rehearsals and Season – assistance as needed, reception at performances
  • Board – assist as requested with tasks
