Marketing and PR Intern
Bowen McCauley Dance is seeking an intern for Spring 2015. The ideal candidate will begin the internship in early December 2014 and continue through April 2015. The internship requires 15-20 hours per week and will offer time off during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays with dates to be mutually agreed upon.
Specifically, the internship will focus on Marketing and PR activities for BMD’s two signature events that both take place in the spring: the annual Move Me Festival (March 21, 2015) and BMD’s weekend of performances and events at the Kennedy Center (April 10-11, 2015).
The BMD Marketing and PR Intern will have projects in several areas including:
Creating and executing a marketing and PR plan for the 6th Annual Move Me Festival, including press releases, e-blasts, online advertising, leveraging partnerships, social media, and designing overall theme, look and language for marketing materials
Executing marketing and PR activities for a two-performance weekend at The Kennedy Center
Social media/communications coordination
Special event planning (including our annual Kennedy Center Soiree)
Working with the Artistic Director, Executive Director and Marketing Director on projects as needed
The ideal candidate will have one or more years in a marketing department at a non-profit organization, be enrolled in a graduate program, have a passion for the arts, and an appreciation for the local arts scene. Graphic design skills a plus.
College credit. Students also have the option to use this experience as an independent study. Small stipend available.
