Choreographic Fellowship Opportunity
Choreographic Fellowship, University of Kansas, Department of Dance
The Department of Dance at the University of Kansas invites emerging and established choreographers to apply for a two-week artist residency to teach technique classes and set an approximately 10-minute group work (preferably for about 10 students) on the University Dance Company. Decisions will be made based upon the choreography submitted for review. Proposals for new choreography will not be considered. Fellows will be chosen for Fall 2015, Spring 2016, Fall 2016 and Spring 2017. Choreographic fellows will receive an honorarium of $4,000, plus university housing. Travel and per diem are included in the honorarium.
We will review all submissions through Acceptd, an online application service: http://app.getacceptd.com/kuchoreographic. Please upload a video of the work you wish to set along with a cover letter including a description of the piece, your approach to teaching dance technique and curriculum vitae October 13, 2014. There is a $25 application fee to utilize this service.
