|Fieldwork is a process that supports the developmen of new artistic works. Some FAQ’s:
What do we do at Fieldwork?
Each session follows a format of showing work and giving feedback. We give each other feedback in the order that the work was shown. If time permits, we check in about the process or discuss shared interest about artmaking.
Do I have to show work every week?
No. Anyone who wishes to show work can show.
What kinds of artists can do Fieldwork?
Fieldwork is open to all disciplines! Writers, painters, dancers, choreographers, directors, filmmakers, musicians, composers, and media artists are all welcome.
What if I don’t know enough about a genre to give feedback?
You will because we use a feedback method developed specifically for fieldwork. We go over the feedback method in the first session.
Do we create work individually or as one group?
During the sessions, everyone shares his or her work. The goal is not to make something collectively, although often collaborations form from within the group.
Can I try out the first session on March 16 and then decide?
Yes! Anyone interested in checking out fieldwork is welcome to attend the first session. Let me know if you are coming!
